passing of Howard Bryan, a long-time journalist and one of New Mexico's giants in the field of history. Howard received the Friends of New Mexico Authors Award in the 2009 New Mexico Book Awards. He also received the Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts in 1994 as well as a SPUR Award from Western Writers of America. He was a journalist for 42 years.
A funeral will be this Friday 8:30 am at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe.
A Remembrance & Celebration to his life will be held at the Albuquerque Press Club on Saturday September 24th 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The Press Club is at 201 Highland Circle SE, (Off Central); 243-8476.
