THE POPE OF PEPPERS TO SPEAK AT THE JUNE 25 NEW MEXICO BOOK CO-OP MEETING ON ALTERNATIVE MARKETING
Dave DeWitt, The “Pope of Peppers” and author of over 35 books, will be the featured speaker at the June 25 New Mexico Book Co-op Lunch. Emily DeWitt-Cisneros will join him in the discussion on social media and alternative book marketing – YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, e-events, blogs, blasts, internet newsletters, and new technology. The lunch will be held at Golden Corral on Alameda and off Coors across from Lowe’s (3401 NM HWY 528). Lunch starts at 11:15am and the meeting begins at noon. Meeting is free, but attendees pay for their own lunches.
Dave DeWitt’s nerwest book “Founding Foodies: How Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin Revolutionized American Cuisine,” will be released this fall. DeWitt is the founder of the Fiery Foods Show. Emily DeWitt Cisneros manages the Fiery Foods Show and manages the use of social media for the annual show, which is the largest show in the country featuring hot and spicy foods.

BBQ Book and Chili Cook Books
NEW BBQ BOOK & CHILE COOK BOOKS AT PORK & BREW IN RIO RANCHO March 26 & 27, 2010
LPD Press/Rio Grande Books of Los Ranchos, New Mexico will have its book, "Startin’ The Fire" by George Hensler at Pork & Brew in Rio Rancho, March 26 & 27, at Santa Ana Star Center in the CNM Booth. This is the first guide for starting a competition BBQ team. Hensler lives in Street, Maryland, and is part of the “Who Are Those Guys” competition BBQ crew. This is his first book.
In addition, Dave Dewitt, founder of the Fiery Foods show and Albuquerque resident will be signing his books -- "The Complete Chile Pepper Book," "Cuisines of the Southwest," and "Avenging Victorio" -- at Pork & Brew. He will also be signing at the CNM booth. DeWitt has written over 35 books on chiles, cooking and fiery foods. He has also won the New Mexico Book Award in 2008 in his category. He is a radio and TV personality and expert of cooking and chiles.

Book Fair Celebrates Grand Opening of Flaying Star in Bernalillom, New Mexico
Book Fair Celebrates Grand Opening of Flaying Star in Bernalillo
The new Flying Star Cafe in Bernalillo will have its Grand Opening Labor Day weekend in Bernalillo August 30, 31 and September 1, 2008. The New Mexico Book Co-op is having a Book Fair/Store to celebrate the New Mexico Wine Festival and the opening of Flying Star Cafe in Bernalillo.
The new Flying Star Cafe is located directly across the street from the NM Wine Festival and they anticipate 30,000 people coming, many walking down from the Road Runner station which is a block behind the new Flying Star Cafe. The space for the book fair has been donated by Flying Star Café.
There will be twenty-five book signings during the three-day event:
