December 5: Albuquerque at midday, then Holiday Fiesta in Santa Fe!
Friday is N.M.'s Literary Party Day!
Friday is Literary Party Day in New Mexico! The yearly NMBA Holiday Fiesta, as well as the Book Co-op holiday party, both happen this Friday December 5. You can attend both -- at lunchtime in the Duke City and after work at The Lodge at Santa Fe!
Details: The NMBA Book and Literary Holiday Fiesta happens at the very convenient Lodge at Santa Fe (the old Radisson), just north of downtown, left off North St. Francis Drive. Parking is easy and convenient. Sangria, hot cider, and lots good things to eat, beginning at 5:30 and going on to past 7:30pm. Bring your mate and/or other literary friends. It’s only $12, at the door, including everything. Reservations aren’t necessary.
As it happens this year, the New Mexico Book Co-op has a midday holiday party also December 5, at Lin’s Buffet on Albuquerque’s west side (see Calendar below). In that case, reservations are required. So go to both events and make this early December Friday a full and fun day of reconnecting with your literary friends!
Co-hosting the Holiday Fiesta in Santa Fe are SouthWest Writers, International Women’s Writing Guild, PEN-New Mexico, WordHarvest, NM Book Co-op, Narrative Arts Center, Recursos/Southwest Literary Center, and the New Mexico Coalition for Literacy.
Need more details? Call (505) 231-1755 or (505) 988-7214.
And Saturday, December 6 is SouthWest Writers Annual Holiday Potluck: Join SWW for their annual Holiday Feast at their Saturday meeting, December 6. www.southwestwiters.org. Bring you favorite holiday treats. We usually get a cornucopia of breakfast burritos (thanks Rob and Larry), posole, tamales, fruit cakes, decorated cookies, biscochitos, fruit pies and egg nog. Come very hungry.
