It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Thornton, author of A CAT NAMED FISH AND A FISH NAMED CAT. He passed away on December 19. Wayne had been a member of the NM Book Co-op since 2006 and participated in the 2007 Book Awards. He was buried at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

The New Mexico Book Co-op website ( and the New Mexico Book Awards website ( have been completely re-designed to make them easier to navigate as well as easier to keep up-to-date. You will find lots of new information on the website of help to Co-op participants in promoting and selling local books. You will notice that the Co-op Marketplace has been completely redone (well almost — it will be finished in a few days).
