Write On Four Corners Author Don Bullis

Don Bullis is soon to be on Write On Four Corners at KSJE FM in Farmington New Mexico. His speciality is biographical and political dictionaries of New Mexico. He also has a western triva book out that might be lots of fun for summer trips.

DON BULLIS PUBLISHES THE OLD WEST TRIVIA BOOK
Don Bullis of Rio Rancho has just published the “Old West Trivia Book” by Rio Grande Books in Los Ranchos. The first edition of the book sold over 10,000 copies. The new edition was completely revised and updated when it was moved to Rio Grande Books by the author. The book profiles the Old West with interesting and funny facts about the people who made the West wild. People like: Molly Brown, General Custer, Geronimo, movie stars, politicians, and many others are covered. Over one thousand interesting facts are presented in the book along with dozens of photographs.
The recipient of the 2009 Lansing B. Bloom Award from the Historical Society of New Mexico for his “New Mexico: A Biographical Dictionary Volume I & II,” Bullis has been a newspaper editor, lawman, state lobbyist, and now a historian. Bullis has also twice won the New Mexico Book Award and his “New Mexico & Politicians of the Past” was awarded a 2009 New Mexico Statehood grant.
The book is 228 pages with historical photos throughout. It sells for $17.95.

Mary Beath New Write On Four Corners Writer on KSJE FM

Mary Beath will talk about her recent release from UNM Press Hiking alone Trails Out, Trails Home on KSJE FM's Write On Four Corners early in 2009. A collection of essays, Hinking Alone follows her oddesy out of New York and into New mexico. she'll be doing some signings soon. Here's the note she sent me.

The first reading for Hiking Alone is at Bookworks, 4022 Rio Grande Blvd NW, Albuquerque Thursday, May 8, 7pm. I'll also have a reading at UNM Bookstore sometime in late June. When it's pinned down, I'll drop you a note.

DON BULLIS SPEAKS & SIGNS AT HOLY GHOST LIBRARY FAIR MARCH 8

Don Bullis, local author and historian, will be speaking at the Holy Ghost Library Fair, Saturday, March 8, from 10-11 am. Bullis writes for the Rio Rancho Observer and has a ezine on local history. He is also head of the Albuquerque Westerners Chapter and a member of the board of the New Mexico Historical Society.

Bullis¹ book New Mexico: A Biographical History was a Winner in the 2007 New Mexico Book Awards and Bullis¹ book Bull¹s Eye was a Finalist. After his talk Bullis will sign copies of his books.

The Holy Ghost Library Fair is located at 6201 Ross SE in Albuquerque (3 blocks north on San Pedro from Gibson). The events are free and open to the public.

DAVE DEWITT SIGNS AVENGING VICTORIO AT THE FIERY FOODS SHOW FEBRUARY 29 & MARCH 1 & 2

Dave Dewitt, award-winning author and founder of the Fiery Foods Show, will be signing copies of his newest novel, Avenging Victorio, as well as his cookbooks,The Spicy Food Lover¹s Bible, Da Vinci¹s Kitchen, and Heat Up Your Life DVD at the Fiery Foods Show at Sandia Casino. Avenging Victorio was a Finalist in the recent New Mexico Book Awards.

Dewitt will be signing: Friday, February 29, 1-3 pm; Saturday, March 1, 9am
- noon & 4-6pm: and Sunday, March 1-4pm. at the LPD Press/Rio Grande Books booth 724 in the meeting room near the ballroom of Sandia Casino.
