THE POPE OF PEPPERS TO SPEAK AT THE JUNE 25 NEW MEXICO BOOK CO-OP MEETING ON ALTERNATIVE MARKETING
Dave DeWitt, The “Pope of Peppers” and author of over 35 books, will be the featured speaker at the June 25 New Mexico Book Co-op Lunch. Emily DeWitt-Cisneros will join him in the discussion on social media and alternative book marketing – YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, e-events, blogs, blasts, internet newsletters, and new technology. The lunch will be held at Golden Corral on Alameda and off Coors across from Lowe’s (3401 NM HWY 528). Lunch starts at 11:15am and the meeting begins at noon. Meeting is free, but attendees pay for their own lunches.
Dave DeWitt’s nerwest book “Founding Foodies: How Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin Revolutionized American Cuisine,” will be released this fall. DeWitt is the founder of the Fiery Foods Show. Emily DeWitt Cisneros manages the Fiery Foods Show and manages the use of social media for the annual show, which is the largest show in the country featuring hot and spicy foods.

New Mexico Book CoOp Lunch
FEBRUARY 26 NEW MEXICO BOOK CO-OP LUNCH FEATURES JOHN HOFFSIS OF TREASURE HOUSE IN OLD TOWN
The February meeting of the New Mexico Book Co-op (Friday, February 26) features John Hoffsis of Treasure House Bookstore in Old Town, Albuquerque. He will talk about what books do well at his store, what he looks for, and the trends of the book industry in New Mexico. The meeting starts at noon at Golden Corral, 3451 Hwy. 528 (Coors & Alameda) but attendees are encouraged to come early to eat and network. Attendees pay for their own lunch buffet and drink. Attendees are also encouraged to bring a copy of their latest book.

The New Mexico Book Co-op will feature Web marketing for authors at its October 23 lunch meeting. Jan Zimmermann, author of Web Marketing for Dummies, will be our speaker. The meeting begins at 11:30 and is open to anyone interested in books. The meeting will be held at the Golden Corral at 3401 Hwy 528 (just west of the intersection of Coors Blvd and Alameda Blvd). The meeting is free and the buffet lunch costs about $8 plus tax and tip.
Everyone who is interested in books in New Mexico is welcome (and encouraged) to attend this event!
