There's no better authority on bookselling in New Mexico than our own Ruth Francis. Her workshop will be at The Writers Room in Santa Fe, 826 Camino del Monte Rey, 6:30 to 8:30pm. Cost is only $15 for NMBA members ($20 non-members).
It's the best bargain for the buck for learning how to sell a book effectively in the Southwest, bar none! Bring your questions, books, manuscripts, experiences -- Ruthie will share her insights on every element of successful book marketing.

NEW MEXICO BOOK CO-OP LUNCH FEATURES ALTERNATIVE MARKETING
The Friday, March 28, 2008, lunch meeting of the New Mexico Book Co-op will feature Alternative Books Signings & Selling with a panel of authors: David Corwell, Sabra Brown Stienseck, Jerry Davis, Lela Belle Wolfert, and Jill Lane. The panel will talk about selling books at arts & Crafts festivals, grocery stores, the Book Chat, and other non-bookstore locations. They will talk about promotions, gimmicks, email, and mailings.
The Book Co-op lunch is open to everyone and the meeting is free. Attendees pay for their own lunch buffet at Hometown Buffet on Coors in the Target Shopping Center. Meeting starts at noon and attendees are encouraged to come early to network.
